Does Budget Ahead connect to my bank?

No. You add accounts and transactions yourself, or import a CSV or PDF statement from your bank (Settings → Import a bank statement). Your bank login is never shared with us.

Is my data backed up?

Yes. Changes are saved on your phone first and backed up to your private cloud account within a few seconds. Sign in on a new phone and everything comes back. Check the status in Profile → Backup.

What does "Available to spend" mean?

The balances of accounts marked as spendable, minus savings reservations, unpaid bills and planned payments through month end. Overdue bills are included; planned income is not spendable cash. Savings accounts and credit cards are usually left out.

How do I record a credit card?

Add an account of type Credit card with what you owe as a negative opening balance. Purchases are expenses from the card. Paying the card off is a transfer from your bank account to the card.

What is the difference between a refund and income?

A refund gives money back for something you bought, so it reduces your spending in that category. Income, like salary, is money you earn.

How do bills work?

Add recurring payments in Bills. Budget Ahead shows what is due, includes them in your monthly forecast, and when you tap Paid it records the expense and moves the bill to its next date.

Can I use more than one currency?

Yes. Each account has its own currency. Switch the currency at the top of most screens to see that currency's accounts, budgets and insights.

How does receipt scanning work?

Budget Ahead reads a receipt photo on your phone for free, with no subscription or cloud AI. Check the shop, purchase date, total and items before saving. Keeping receipt photos in cloud storage is a Plus feature. Optional AI reading, which captures every item, requires an active Premium subscription and your consent.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google. On iPhone open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Budget Ahead. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid the next charge.

How do I delete my data?

Settings → Delete my account permanently removes your login and all your records. To keep a copy, export first from Settings. No access to the app? See budgetaheadapp.com/delete-account.html.
